Global Religions seeks to study the main religious traditions across the world. Each religion has its own history, narratives, creeds, rituals, symbols, and pivotal characters that create a unique belief system. We will be studying the most popular belief systems alive today, which continue to be an integral aspect to both individual and cultural identity. The class objective is not to ascertain whether these belief systems are accurate or true, rather to understand what constitutes as the "divine" for these very different religious traditions.
HS 4 - Adobe Creative Suite

Discover and learn the basics of Adobe Creative Suite. Get creative with technology and software used in the professional world of developers and designers. Learn the basis of design and programming used in everything from advertising to web and game development.
HS 6 – Photography and Photoshop

$50 per week / $180 for 4 weeks

The Intro to Photography & Photoshop class is designed for students to grasp the basic elements of photography as well as understand the use of simple and more powerful editing programs such as Photoshop. Activities will include outdoor photography, portrait photography, and action photography. Students will then return to the class where they will learn about editing their photos in artistic ways.

El presente curso propone como principio hacer un estudio transversal entre lo que ha sido la historia de Nicaragua y el proceso que ha sufrido la Constitución de la República como instrumento garante de la democracia y de los derechos ciudadanos. Se reflexiona sobre algunos valores cívicos que hacen posible la democracia como sistema y se analiza la perspectiva y derechos ciudadanos ofrecidos por los medios. Posteriormente se estudia directamente la relación entre historia nacional y el proceso de origen y transformación que ha sufrido la constitución de la república. Finalmente se realizan estudios de casos para analizar y reflexionar en torno a ellos la cuestión del ejercicio de los valores ciudadanos y democracia.

El presente curso propone el análisis y comprensión del surgimiento y desarrollo de la sociología, su importancia científica así como los aportes de los principales representantes de esta ciencia. Se reflexiona sobre la importancia de la estructura social y sus diversas manifestaciones. Posteriormente se estudia, compara y contrasta el desarrollo de las sociedades en el transcurso de la historia. Finalmente se realiza el estudio de la cultura nacional y política en la sociedad nicaragüense promoviendo así las acciones que fortalecen y promocionan la identidad cultural, el respeto a los diversos grupos que conforman nuestra sociedad, su sistema político y el rol de los poderes del estado.

“Philosophy” offers an overall introduction to the major branches of philosophy: metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics. Essentially, this course explores the ideas of several key philosophers and their ideas about reality, our place within it, and, lastly, how to live a morally correct life. This class will provide the foundations to each branch of philosophy but it will also strongly emphasize human nature and ethics.
